Before creating "Whippen Secretarial Services" in 1998, I had worked in the Secretarial/Administrative work force for over 20 years. After our son was born in 1996, I felt the need to be a stay-at-home Mom. I was also a licensed home day-care provider and I also run a very successful personalized gifts and party favor business utilizing my desktop publishing skills.
My background and experience includes such fields as Human Resources, Purchasing, Customer Service, Corporate Property Management (over 10 years), Insurance, Medical, Accounting, Construction, and Banking.
I'm proficient with designing advertising materials such as brochures, newsletters, flyers, small business web design (specializing in home day-care) as well as transcription, data entry, genealogical research and word processing with a typing speed of 85 wpm.
I have worked extensively with computers for over 10 years and have a vast knowledge of the Internet as well of many types of software including all Windows programs, MS Office including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint, MS Works, QuickBooks Pro 2000, WordPerfect, and many types of desktop publishing programs including MS Publisher, MS FrontPage, Adobe PhotoDeluxe, Paint Shop Pro, Print Artist, Print Master, Print Shop version 10; MGI PhotoSuite 4 and others.
